SMB’s and the Web – A Paradox

In the references I gave on this post; Do SMB’s Hate Web Sites? it was noted that SMB’s seem to avoid having their own web sites.
But look at this eWeek Mid-Market article;
SMBs spend more time on the Web for business purposes than any other user segment
In the small business / medium business space, when we are the prospects, we are doing research and looking for product information on the web.
And that is the paradox.
Because this statistic implies that while we use others web sites for product or service research, we assume that others will not be using our own web sites for their research.
If you are a SME in the B2B space – take this as another argument to get over that fear of the unknown, and look at establishing your brand on the web.
