The Perspective Of A Consumer

April 17, 2009

I wanted to pull one quote from Melissa Barton on this post titled; Who Is My Competition?

 ..looking at yourself from the perspective of a consumer.

Your business may be in the B2C or B2B space, it does not matter.

Look at your business from the outside in. Look through the lens of your customers, and walk a mile in their shoes.

Once you have done that, only then can you answer;

Do you make it drop dead simple to business with you?

One click, or one phone call and done?

Or is it a frustrating round of telephone tag, faxes, e-mails and the like?

And, are you using IT to help you focus on your customers?

    I am sure that if your colleague is the one being bounced around calling for phone or cable service or something – that the opinion would probably change!

    Thanks!

    i have a colleague at work who insists that consumers don’t mind calling us and getting tossed from person to person depending upon the question or having to leave a message. in this economy all companies have to ‘UP’ their customer service. so i agree with all you have said elliot.
